The International Tech-transfer Department of Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange organizes technology promotions, seminars and forums, exhibitions, etc., providing related services to help companies or organizations to promote the image, to seek for partners, and to strengthen its competitiveness in the field of science and technology, technology transfer as well as international trade and finance.
In the initial period of a project, each sides of the project can get a brief understanding about each other through remote video-conference system without a long business trip. STTE has held video conferences with Russia, Finland, French, Iran, etc.
1. Technology promotions
Assisting foreign enterprises to promote technology in China or assist domestic enterprises to introduce technology in foreign countries.
2. Technology seminars and forums
Organizing overseas and domestic experts to have research and discussion on technology of a specific topic, for example:
(a) China-Finland Technology Transfer & Cooperation Seminar on Contaminated Soil and Solid Waste Management
On November 5th, 2008, China-Finland Technology Transfer & Cooperation Seminar on Contaminated Soil and Solid Waste Management was held in Xin Jinjiang Hotel in Shanghai. Ms. Paula Lehto Meki, Minister of Finland Environment Ministry was invited to address in the opening ceremony and there were more than 40 experts and leading officials of enterprise from Finland. The forum also invited officials from 160 Shanghai enterprises and 30 relevant experts from top universities and research institutes in Shanghai. This seminar introduced 10 advanced Finland environmental technologies to China enterprises, and several contracts with a total value of more than 300 million dollars was signed during the seminar.
(b) Shanghai-Lahti International Forum-Comprehensive Management Technology of Fresh Water Lakes
On March 12th, 2008, an international forum, Shanghai-Lahti International Forum ?Comprehensive Management Technology of Fresh Water Lakes? was held simultaneously in Finland, Shanghai and Yunnan through remote video conference system. The conference was jointly sponsored by Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange and Lahti Regional Development Ltd. The forum had set up two sub-venues in Qingpu District, Shanghai, and Kunming City, Yunnan Province. This forum introduced advanced Finland freshwater management technology into China , and the Finland experts was invited to join the research work of the management of Dianshan Lake in west part of Shanghai.
(c) 2006 Shanghai International Technology Transfer Forum
The '2006 Shanghai International Technology Transfer Forum' hosted by Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange was held in Shanghai from December 6 to 7th, 2006. More than 150 representatives from more than 10 countries and international organizations, as well as domestic organizations all over the country participated in this event. The topic of this forum is technology transfer and innovation, and its purpose is to promote regional technology innovation and industrialization of technological achievements, to promote industrial structure optimization and the development of high-tech industries and to accelerate the country, the region economic and technological development level by technology transfer.
3. Technology Transfer Pavilion in Shanghai International Industry Fair
As one of the three major functions of Shanghai International Industry Fair, technology transfer fully reflects the international tendency of the Industrial Fair. The Technology Transfer Pavilion of Shanghai International Industry Fair is hosted by Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange, and launches the 'International Technology Transfer Thematic Events' to professional participates each year, and select a number of influential and representative technology transfer projects to hold contract-signing ceremony at the Industrial fair.
