Success Cases
1. Marine Automatic Identification System technology licensing
In 2004, through the Korea National Technology Transfer Center, the Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange was entrusted to transfer 'Marine Automatic Identification System' technology licensing to China market by a Korean company. With Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange's efforts, the Korean company reached a licensing cooperative agreement with a Shanghai company.
In view of the AIS technical conditions as well as the sophisticated navigational safety considerations, International Maritime Organization made the request of AIS equipment in the IMO of 'AIS Inspection Guide' in December 2002. The Korean company is one of several companies which developed advanced marine automatic identification system. Its production had been widely applied in vessels in Korea since 2003.
A Shanghai high-tech enterprise that used to produce the aviation identification system as the main products, started to develop AIS product line since 2003. However, because of the urgency of the market, they needed to quantify the products as soon as possible. Thus, the enterprise wanted to import advanced technology.
Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange communicated with the Korean company and designed relevant program plans based on the Chinese market and technology research and development conditions, as well as local Chinese technology transfer occasions. The two sides finally reached an agreement on the technology licensing.
2. International technology introduction of rotational tank
In 2005, a Shanghai plastic products company believed that rotational tanks were the future development trend of the automotive industry through a wide range of inquiries and analysis. But China's domestic rotational technology was just beginning and of very low level and needed to introduce technology from abroad. Therefore, the company proposed its technology needs to Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange.
Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange used various channels to release out this technology needs. First of all, through the English website, secondly, through its business network in the world, such as APCTT, Korea KTTC, Finland TAKES, as well as other partners or members in more than 20 countries, thirdly, through a variety of NEWSLETTER Briefings on promotions and trade fairs.
Through various channels of publicity, Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange had received responses from three technical suppliers, that is, Italian overseas representitive, Finland Tekes and Korea KTTC. After many rounds of video conferences and telephone communications and face to face negotiations, the Italian technology was finally determined.
With the assistance of Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange, the company ultimately introduced Italian rotational tank technology and implemented volume production. In 2008, the company achieved more than 2000 million turnouts.
3. Korean Nano-silver project promotion
In 2002 Shanghai International Industry Fair, Shanghai Technology Transfer & Exchange signed a marketing cooperation agreement with a Korean company. STTE set up a project team to carry out this agreement. As there are still doubts about the nanotechnology application and nano-products in the market, the project team conducted a careful study of the project, and carried out marketing activities through a variety of ways such as online publication, telephone calls, visits, sample trial, promotions. At the end of November 2003, there were five companies which bought the nano silver products of the Korean company, and the cumulative contract amount was up to more than 12,500 U.S. dollars. According to the market research made by STTE, the company decisively established a wholly owned subsidiary- Shanghai XXX Nanotechnology Ltd. in Shanghai in 2004. After several years of efforts, the brand of its nano-silver products has achieved a certain visibility in the Chinese market. In 2007, Shanghai XXX Nanotechnology Ltd. jointly set up a Shanghai XX Antibacterial Materials Co., Ltd. with an independent investor to develop the application of nano-silver hygiene products.
